Emerging local leaders are running out of time to apply for Leadership Wimmera’s well-regarded Changemakers program.
The five-month program, which starts in July, provides the perfect chance for local people to gain new skills and insights in the region, for the region.
With up to 20 places available, people in business, community and services are urged to take up this valuable leadership development opportunity. But don’t delay, applications close midnight, on Sunday, June 14.
Changemakers graduates join an alumni of more than 700 people who have gained valuable leaderships skills from programs over near a quarter of a century.
Facilitated by Leading Teams, Leadership Wimmera’s Changemakers program helps create strong, community-focused leaders.
Starting with a two-day workshop, and followed by monthly sessions, and a couple of road trips, participants engage in a dynamic mix of immersive workshops, social awareness training and leadership development activities.
Local businesses are encouraged to sponsor a team member’s participation and community members may be eligible for one of several scholarships to support participation costs.
Wimmera Southern Mallee Development CEO Chris Sounness said in an era of increasing uncertainty, good leadership had never been more critical.
“This program is designed for established and aspiring leaders—whether they own or manage a business or have leadership roles in the workplace or community,” he said.
“Participants will gain in-depth leadership skills, refine their personal leadership ‘brand,’ and develop strategies to make a lasting impact.
“I encourage anyone looking to grow their skills, take the next step in their career or to make a difference in their community, to apply for this program.
“We all have leadership capacity and through Changemakers participants not only discover and hone their own leadership qualities, but help steer their community, workplace or business into a better future.”
